Attentive commuters may have noticed the Reed Nissan “Cookie Express,” which has been on the road since February 5. Thanks to the generous support of Reed Nissan, the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council staff are now able to transport cases of cookie inventory and other supporting materials to cookie sellers near and far. The colorful van is turning heads and drawing attention to the world’s largest girl-led business.

The Cookie Express will be hitting the road February 26 -28 in support of National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, celebrating all of the fun and excitement girl scouts have had selling cookies for nearly a century. National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend will give girls a chance to show off their cookie-selling skills by participating in booth and door-to-door sales throughout Central Florida. This weekend also marks hungry cookie customers’ last chance to stock up for the season, as the program comes to a close February 28.

“The Girl Scouts of Citrus Council is comprised of determined and confident young ladies making a difference in their community,” said Aaron Hill, general manager of Reed Nissan and Reed Nissan Clermont. “We believe in the Girls Scouts and its powerful mission, and we look forward to seeing what these young entrepreneurs accomplish in the future.”

During Girl Scout Cookie season, each young #cookieboss is not only selling delicious cookies, but she isalso building essential life skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics—the “Five Skills” of the cookie program. The more cookies girls sell, the more money they have to invest in community service projects and learning experiences such as travel opportunities.

One hundred percent of the net revenue raised through Girl Scout Cookie sales in the Central Florida area stays with Citrus Council and its troops, so customers who purchase Girl Scout Cookies are not only getting a delicious treat, but they are also making an important investment in their communities.
